Wazoo
I'm going to have to run this one by Don first .. not sure if he'd like or is ready for the possible flood this could cause. Gave him a heads up on this person's lack of manners, attention span, etc. .... recognising that this person has had ample time to change account names, straighten things out, retract some garbage, ... little things to at least try to make the attempt at changing the atmosphere in here ... damned absurd that so much time has been spent thus far despite that flag waving he/she has going on .... Miss Betsy
IMHO, email service customers who want to report should have the option between quick reporting with reports or using the standard confirmation reporting. Miss Betsy
Wazoo
Timing is everything. I get Don's response. I hit the newsgroups before heading here. Let's just state that Don's primary objection was so adequately defined in the following exchange (and right now, I'm not exactly sure when I'm going to be able to quit laughing); Q: When I log in I get this at the top of the page. Sorry, your account has been disabled Please check your email for an explanation A: It means; Your account has been disabled. Please check your email for an explanation 3rd Party observation; Your language is /so/ much clearer than the murk that SpamCop presented him with. ;-) Bottom line, if the purpose is to get around having to see/review the report e-mails, then the odds are pretty dang high that anything sent from an Admin account won't be read either. dbiel
You got me laughing as well. And since the rest of the message makes about as much sense as the first (well we are still laughing anyway) I will wait for you to post a more definative answer at a latter date, if and when you recieve a coherent response to your orignal request. Edit: Wazoo, thanks for the definative reply, I have deleted the FAQ draft. Thanks for the laugh Bottom line, if the purpose is to get around having to see/review the report e-mails, then the odds are pretty dang high that anything sent from an Admin account won't be read either. I am afraid that this part is all too true.
Wazoo
No, the answer from Don was very coherent and direct <g> That last part you quoted was my attempt to summarize those thoughts provided in that "not a good idea for thr FAQ" response. The newsgroup dialog was just so timely and coincidental, just happening to fit right in behind the Admin e-mail/contact issue.
Spamcop_has_bad_help_IMO
One solution appear to be: 1. Personal Blacklist the spam Quick reporting data Return-Path: rrbounces <at> admin.spamcop.net 2. use a filter to move the Reports from the Held Mail folder to another folder upon login to webmail. This has the desired effect. The Quick Reports never will appear in any mail I doesn load from spam Cop, but when/if I use Webmail, they will be stored in a place should I need to access them. This avoids any mucking around with using an alternative email adress for filtered mail customers.

So,,,,,,,,, Why don't you go into webmail and create a filter rule to send the auto replies to your trash folder????? 15865 Second time I even walked ya through it. That is where the filter is! In You Webmail! It works, you filter it and you will never see it. it will go to trash............ login Webmail While you are in your inbox at the top click "filters" Then when the new screen comes up click "Edit your filters" when the new screen comes up click "new rule" You should know what do do from there. Just send the autoreplies to the trash and you will never see them. Believe me, it is easy. 15881 Ignorance/bliss/vacation I think from now on you should not ask questions if you are not going to listen to the answers. There's none so blind as they that won't see.

Spamcop_has_bad_help_IMO
I thought that was what I said! Twice!!!!!!!!!!! No it is NOT what you said, and you saying it TWICE didnt' affect the FACT your 'answer' was wrong. I needed a solution which didn't require me to log into web mail, so if I retrieved my main in another fashion, the Quick reporting data WOULD NOT appear in my inbox. If you had bothered to read the thread AT ALL, you should have garnered this (hint: its in the post where I describe how I get my mail in a variety of ways, including PDA, phone, and PC). You look real dumb when you claim you pointed somehting out twice when it doesn't solve the problems in the first place, but that' your perogative. The solution was really to blacklist the Quick Reporting data reports. Not setting up some filter, which if you read the first friggin post you should have garnered that I already tried, and later posted that I am aware that filters (not BL/WL) work ONLY in webmail, which was exactly the problem. The filter was just useful in taking the mail from the held mail and putting it into another folder in case for some bizarre reason I need one of the reports. I think from now on you should not ask questions if you are not going to listen to the answers. And you sould try and be less condescending when you don't even understand the problems and can only manage to propose slutions which do not work. Hell, just read your sig and pay attention to the freedom of thought portion. Sticking your fingers in your ears and chanting the same wrong answer doesn't stop it from being a wrong answer. And yes, I did some up with this solutionon my own, with some help from dbiel's liks to some other posts about where/when/how filters and BL/WL are applied. But thanks for your $.02 (worth considerably less)
