SYNACK
I grabbed the following message source via Comcast webmail ("View source on") and it does not show an originating IP at all (Yes, I got the entire header!): http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z687546889zad...5094947b0ab61bz Just curious if there is a logical explanation. My best guess is that the comcast mail server has corrupted the message. Occasionally, I see messages that are truncated at the end, e.g. a partial header ending in some garbage characters, but I haven't seen what seems to be a complete message with something missing at the top (such as this one). Anyone else seen this before?
Jeff G.
That is indeed curious. If I were you, I'd ask Comcast about it.
Wazoo
The closest analogy would be like an AOL to AOL e-mail, the distribution staying within the confines of the AOL server farm, so "real Internet" headers don't get generated. But this one even goes to the next level, only identifying a non-routable IP for the incoming, never mind all the other normal header contents not in existance. You've been around long enough that suggested that it's caused you handled it wrong isn't the likely answer, but ..... ???? <g>
