"spam"

How do we eliminate the "spam" designation your software has desided WE are sending?!

WE do not send "spam" and your software is Halting business between us and our clients. It is very anoying and troublesome.

We too have had our share of virus problems. Receiving and sending emails internationally, we have been on more than one occation on someones "list" to receive virus(s). BUT that is what Virus programs are for. IF your software is stopping emails JUST because of attachments, you need to rethink your approach.

PLEASE, EXPLAIN!

If you go to the spamcop forum help, there is a pinned FAQ on "Why am I blocked"

It should answer your concerns.

If you have further questions after that, you can post to the spamcop help forum with the IP address that is being blocked. Someone will be able to help you understand more clearly or to show you how to fix any problems.

The spamcop blocklist (which is used by ISP's to protect their customers from spam) does not accept virus reports. All the spamcop program does is to look at headers of emails that members think are spam and tell members where to send reports. If there are enough reports, the IP address of where the spam comes from goes on the spamcop blocklist. The blocklist is automated so that when there are no more reports of spam, the IP address drops off the list.

The person you need to talk to is your email service provider. Your clients would probably rather not hear from you if it means filling up their inbox with spam. An alternative is to use a web based email service (the most familiar are hotmail and yahoo) that is not blocked in order to reach your clients until the problem is fixed.

AFAIK, SpamCop has no software that adds a spam designation to anyone's email.

SpamCop has no software that prevents your email from being delivered to your clients. It does maintain a database that contains the IP addresses identified as the source of spam based on user reports. SpamCop uses this data to divert potential spam to its customer's "Held Mail" folder.

The database is available on the web and some admins do bounce email based on its contents but SpamCop cannot dictate policy matters to them and it cannot tell them how they can use data they intentionally seek out.

Virus emails are not allowed to be reported as spam. If you are being listed due to false spam reports see FAQ #167 for an address to contact about the false reports send evidence backiing your claim to the SpamCop admin.spamcop.net]Deputies

Since you failed to provide the IP that is reportedly listed there's not much anyone can tell you. See the pinned FAQ as suggested elsewhere or paste the URL of a SCBL evidence page and you might get a more useful response.
