Brought over from a PM;

Hi, Wazoo!

I write you a personal messages, because I have a few long attacments.

Short: I use SpamSource in reporting spam. I recive messages wrom SpamCop: SpamCop encountered errors: SpamCop encountered errors while saving spam for processing:

SpamCop could not find your spam message in this email:

I have sent reports alos to SpamSource support Cris Price. His answer is below:

=================================

I would recommend that you refer this to SpamCop as the attachment

(messagedat01.txt) looks correct. I did a search for the error below and found that other people have seen this before, so it may be a bug with the SpamCop parsing engine.

You might try sending the error and the Messagedat01.txt attachment to deputies <at> spamcop.net and see if they can explain why it's getting rejected or also you could post the question to the forums on SpamCop.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks,

Chris Price

Appreciate the thought of not wanting to overload the Forum with your data (noting that this is what a Tracking UTL is all abaout (see the Glossary, linked to from the FAQ ' read before posting')) .. but not sure why it's OK to kick it to me in a PM ..??? You didn't follow the suggestion to bring it to the Forum actually or get it to a Deputy, so I'm doing the next best thing.

I'm not familiar with SpamSource, but the "attachment (messagedat01.txt)" doesn't have the right ring for me. I suspect that the format of the spam submittal is incorrect. I gave up trying to play with your provided sample ... the errors between your handling of it, the white-space issues of this application, compounded by my attempts at editing that result ... I got the headers to parse with a target found for the source of the spew, but .... things like the alleged Quoted-Printable text isn't showing as Quote-Printable and it's hard telling from here whether that was spammy construct or something that's been mangled with all the handling.

As a third-party thing is in use, does that imply the use of Outlook? SpamSource's page identifies the various modofications it makes to e-mail based on the version of Outlook in use, the version of Exchange that's in use, then also mentions all the "customer modifications" that are available ...???? none of this data is in your query. They are selling version 2.66, but docs reference version 2.65 .... I'll assume you've been through their Forums and such, seeing that the number one item is "Recommended settings for using SpamSource with Spamcop.net" .... just curious that Chris said that there were other users with the same issue ... (actually, I went back and went through the few items in the support Forum ... no sign of others with issues in the 4 Topics showing, nothing in the Knowledgebase other than setting things up [and I'm not totally sure that some of that commentary is correct])

Problem being from this side of the screen, I/we need to see something a bit closer to the original e-mail .... or a Tracking URL of one you've submitted if you can get that far into the process.
