MyNameHere Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Hi folks, You know how webmail will detect links embedded in an e-mail and display them as a hyperlink? The link actually hits the webmail page "go.php" and sends it the encoded target url. A couple of times now, I have run into links that fail. For instance, the following link works (I can copy it into the IE address bar and it displays the Hertz reservation page): https://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/services/...3Den%26pos%3DUS But the following link does not work (neither from webmail directly nor when pasted into IE): https://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/services/...3D59714%262y%3D However, if I select the text of the link in the e-mail and copy/paste that into the address bar, it does work: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.ad...MT&2z=59714&2y= You should be able to try it for yourself with these examples. I suppose it has something to do with the length of the url, but I haven't experimented with it...

Is this the right forum to use, or would Geek/Tech Things - Software Issues be a better place? (I noticed very few threads and replies there.)

That will alert JT (the email admin) to the bug. This is the correct forum to post this (and if not I would have moved it).
