I don't quite understand how it could have been down for so long without generating a ton of traffic in the newsgroups ad/or here .. but at the moment, I'll agree that the mail application sure looks like it's down (the server itself is still alive) ... nothing posted at http://mail.spamcop.net/news.php ... e-mail sent, not sure about calling at what would be 0340 Sunday morning for him ....

Maybe it is a routing issue or possibly something temporary. All seems to be working from this location right now.

That would explain the lack of a zillion other complaints. I get the login screen at webmail.spamcop.net, though noting that it answers on a different IP address, so not sure if that means anything at all .... I'll plead ignorance at this point.

Wazoo, Perhaps a silly thing missed in the wee hours...POP traffic travels on port 110, not port 25. There is no SMTP server configured at that IP address.

I just downloaded from pop.spamcop.net from here without problem and IMAP is also working (from webmail.spamcop.net).

I've tried for a bit to come up with a possible explanation for that ... I know that you know that I know this .... yet, it sure looks glaring now.

I don't know what was wrong, but I was able to get e-mail again later in the day when I tried again.

I'm guessing no one else was significantly affected. I was affected from about 8 pm MST onwards. Maybe it was only me.
