louisd Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 I'd love to see the rfc-ignorant.org list available as a blocking option. It'd be great if it were even more granular. For instance, I'd love to be able to block anyone on their "abuse" and "postmaster" lists as I have no interest in getting e-mail from anyone who doesn't have a working abuse or postmaster mailbox. --Louis
Jeff G. Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 RFC-Ignorant.org has six lists. Only one of them (ipwhois.rfc-ignorant.org) is IP-based, so that could be used if there was enough call for it in this forum. I'd like to use it for my account. The other five lists are RHSBLs (Domain-based Right Hand Side Block Lists), that is, they could work on the right hand side of: the HELO; the RDNS of the connecting mailserver; the SMTP Envelope Sender; the From address; and/or even spamvertized URLs. I don't think SpamCop's systems are setup to deal with RHSBLs (even though the current Whitelist is RHS-only).
louisd Posted March 10, 2004 Author Posted March 10, 2004 I'm more interested in the spam[at] and abuse[at] lists but I suspect you're right, since they're domain based, there isn't a capability to do that here. Too bad. Thanks for pointing that out. --Louis
