agsteele Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Readers may be interested in this report from the BBC's technology pages. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5219554.stm It seems that two US companies, Return Path and IronPort, are now estimating that only 5% of all messages are legitimate. 80% comes from what are described as 'compromised hosts' with Return Path claiming that 99% of the computers it monitors being taken over by trojans and viruses.
