dealing with a spammer forum

I think there's more severe issues at hand besides just too much spam if your users cannot put a link back together in an address bar. (ex. too many ID 10 T errors that are causing spam and malware in the first place???)

We just like to make it a bit harder for the new users here not to get themselves into trouble. We have a very mixed environment here including people with little internet experience. We are not worried about the experienced ones who can recreate the link easlily enough.

If you're doing it to avoid passing referrer tags, no one cares about those over there.

But we do here. Also, many people have taken to trying to include links here to be picked up by the major search engines.

The OP has to be trolling. He found an article that was a year and a half old, went to the forum, picked up BS info, and probably pulled the list of who was online and said "knows too much", while adding a few details. That's a level of intelligence I have never seen before.

We also don't need search engines or referrer tags to get traffic there. Especially Not when 1 of the members, who is 15 and causes a lot of trouble, hacked "THE" Tom's Myspace and sent all the traffic that way. That brought in like 5,000 stupid people.

The forum is a small group of people who like to get together and talk about being nerdy. That is about it. There's the occasional computer question, but its usually about how drunk everyone got over the weekend.

<edited> Stuff like that just happens when I am intoxicated.

If you want to see the true meaning of Nerdy, hang around the forum for a while. Nerdy isn't what it used to be 20 years ago. Now adays being nerdy involves alot of partying and pimping, while using computers and running websites and whatnot.

OK, the idiocy, lunacy, pornography stops here. Between the foul and vulgar language being used to post to the Topic, the seemingly never-ending stream of the same in PM traffic, reports are that some of these idiots are even spewing their filth via e-mail ... Topic closed.
