Hello,

I work for an ISP that provides a SpamCop Mirror for the blacklists. I have noticed the server we have, which appears to have been set up in 2006, has stopped updating in 2013 and has also croaked as of 2021. I have repaired the operating system, however the rsync command is still not working.

According to this it should be working, however the SSH connection times out. I assume this is because the mirror is doing something wrong and has been IP blocked on the SpamCop system. This seems reasonable since it's probably been broken for many years while the cronjob kept running and you guys likely could not contact my predecesors as they no longer work here.

I would like to repair this and get the mirror working. However the contact forms on the linked article above don't work (the captcha is broken and even if fixed the form yields an error) and I'm not sure who to reach out to to get this issue resolved. I noticed an email address service[at]admin.spamcop.net in the FAQ, however I thought I'd ask here first.

I haven't found any other posts here regarding this topic.

LP,
Jure

Hi Jure,

Because of situations like this where mirrors would sit borked or not updating for long periods of time we stopped offering/accepting public mirrors in 2021. It provides us with better control.

Thanks, Richard

Okay, I'll just replace the system with an unbound DNS cache.

Is there anything I need to know in regards to reducing the amount of traffic to your servers?

Jure
