Hi

i registered with a new free reporting account for submit emails in my work and i would like to submit spam via email as i already do with my personal email... but i cant find any place that tells me what is my reporting email...

i read the help, but i dont get any welcome screen with any email... i got the "ISP control center" (i registered the email postmaster[at])

doesnt postmaster[at] allow reporting of spam? must i create a new account with a different email just for reporting spam, and use the postmaster[at] just for receiving reports?

thanks

It sounds to me as though you registered for an ISP account. Perhaps using postmaster had something to do with it.

There is a difference between a free reporting account and an ISP account. The difference is probably explained in the FAQ or the wiki.

Sorry that I can not be more help, but I don't have time to look myself (pink yarn for new granddaughter is waiting!). Also not a morning person.

ok, thanks....

So if this account/email is a ISPaccount, i have to create another for reporting with a different email.

i would suggest a FAQ entry with this problem, i had search the forums and the FAQ, but nowhere i could read that ISPaccount cant be used to report spam...

only with your link i reached the url http://forum.spamcop.net/scwik/AccountTypes where it says almost that

another way is to put a small link in the ISP account to with the name "reporting" linking to the above page

finally, the http://spamcop.net/anonsignup.shtml should tell that if you use the reporting email for your domain you get a ISPaccount, not a reporting account (or when creating the account, warn the user about that)

Again, thanks for the help

...Care to write one? http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4351.

...Good ideas but, unfortunately, we volunteers do not have access to those. Please go to the SpamCop FAQ (link near top left of the page), find and click the link labeled "How can I contact a SpamCop representative?" and go to the section labeled "Other reasons for contact."

...Thanks!

i would suggest a FAQ entry with this problem,

Strangely enough, the third item I listed is in fact a FAQ entry that was started. Had you fone through it, you would have noticed that not only did some of the data confuse the proplr involved, but .... the most critical item was never really addressed. And you actually skipped right over it also in your suggestion .... please come up with the way to identify that FAQ entry such that folks that need it will actually find it. If you do a search for "contact center" here, a number of these previous queries will come up .. well, actually, most of the direct results will be my responses, pointing out that the ISP Control Center should have been right there in the middle of the screen, but very few folks ever actually mentioned this little bit of data. Most seem to basically stop at the "I can't report" step .... So if that 'description' right smack in the middle of the page in bold black letters isn't enough of a clue for these folks to mention ever seeing it, how in the world can a single line of text "here" point them to the 'answer' ...????

Noting that the ISP Account was simply a recent add-on to that Wiki page, as it is 'not' a Reporting Account page, location, whatever ... but I did feel that it should be added as it is actually an Account Type .... The ISP Accont is addressed a number of times elsewhere, but basically as an aid to the ISP/Admin of a site/server, not the typical 'Reporter' .....

And al that stuff there is under the control of the 'paid' staff ....

Most of what's "here" is due to the absence of that material n the 'official' pages .....
