clavxavi
Hello, My customer has his main IP address apparing on spamcop.net's blacklists. They have a Domino mail server configured as anti-relay mail server. In the private network, all pcs have a symantec norton anti-virus updated. By scanning pcs no dangerous files are detected. Just one pc which is outside the private network has a trojan. My question is : Is a trojan able to spoof the email address and the IP address of the user in the aim to send spam emails with the user email address ? Telarin
A trojan can and will spoof the email address to send as someone else, however, since the receiving server stamps the IP address in the header, that is not forgable. The easiest way to check for this traffic is to examine you firewall's log files for traffic sent out of your network to port 25. Most current firewalls support some degree of logging, though with many, such as the Linksys series of home and small office firewalls/routers, you will need to download a utility from their website to receive examine these logs fromt he device.
