josh
I noticed today that my yahoo mail hasn't been imported since 8/21/07. I missed some important information and some job opportunities and I'm fairly upset. I checked my spamcop tools and the configuration is still correct, has been working for years. I went into yahoo and marked all the messages as unread, it still didn't import them. I even went to far as to send myself a test message, it didn't get imported. I've begun switching some of my accounts to use gmail instead and as they send notices to my yahoo account those don't get imported. They just sit there as new. There are no errors in my spamcop tools external pop accounts screen and my gmail seems to be importing currently. I had missed a 1099 contract and a notice that some items sold from a store of mine. How do I find out if anyone else is having a problem? Is it a spamcop or yahoo problem? PS - It is periodically marking new yahoo messages as read on yahoo. I am not opening them so I believe it is connecting and scanning them but not importing them. Edited August 27, 2007 by josh
agsteele
How do I find out if anyone else is having a problem? Is it a spamcop or yahoo problem? I don't POP my Yahoo! account but I can say that POPGATE is notoriously subject to problems when a service provider makes even small changes to their configuration. You would be better forwarding to Spamcop than using the popgate. That said, my accounts that I do have set up to be POPped are all being successfully collected at this time. StevenUnderwood
Is that a free yahoo option? I couldn't find it. Thanks for letting me know yours works. Forwarding is not available with the free US accounts. I just checked and my Yahoo account is not showing any errors either in SpamCop, but I do have messages sitting there (83 to be exact). Seems August 21 it stopped working. 99% of all my Yahoo traffic is spam (I have their filters disabled) so did not notice the issue. I reset my account information and I am forwarding off an email to JT right now.

StevenUnderwood
Glad to know it's not just me. One thing. You have not upgraded to the new Yahoo Beta mail application, have you? I have not. Perhaps they updated the popgate application to use the new Yahoo mail and forgot to tell us. I am not updating until told to do so. Any additional information in this thread, should help because I directed my support email here.
DavidT
My Yahoo messages are currently arriving in my SC mailbox via popgate...I just sent a test a while ago and it arrived safely. I've got a garden-variety free US-based Yahoo address. Don't know if I had a similar interruption or not, because I receive very few messages at that address, but it's possible. I also have the free US-based Yahoo address. I also just checked the POP page and see "Unknown error: 8" on both entries (one popgate, one gmail direct) both with an error count of 1. StevenUnderwood
When either of you go to the Yahoo Mail site, do you get a roll over ad about being a Yahoo Power Mailer that will not go away? That might be causing an issue. I'm guessing David does not have that but Josh does.
DavidT
When either of you go to the Yahoo Mail site, do you get a roll over ad about being a Yahoo Power Mailer that will not go away? When I visit it using Micro$loth's Internet Exploder, I do...yucchhhh! I rarely use that browser, however, so when I go there using FireFox with my AdBlockPlus active, I see very little of such nonsense. :-) DT

I just disabled java scri_pt, went to the site and got an error about the new mail needing java scri_pt enabled with an option to revert back to the original (which I never switched off of). Let's see if the download works now.

agsteele
It seems that my suggestion that Yahoo! may have changed something to cause the issue may have been on target... I wish you well resolving the problem... Andrew
trevorb
Yahoo changed their interface over the weekend, and all the tools that allow POPing from Yahoo accounts are affected. We will be testing solutions over the next few days, and hope to have a fix for both this and Hotmail Live accounts soon. -Trevor
Wazoo
Topic "Pinned" to make sure it stays up top ... until issue is resolved ... copied this off to the spamcop.mail newsgroup .... hasn't made it to the http://mail.spamcop.net/news.php page yet ... DavidT
Even a default install of Firefox is showing me the rollover on the first screen when opening Yahoo mail. You won't see it if you use the AdBlockPlus add-on/extension, which I *highly* recommend. And my Yahoo mail is popping just fine...so what's the problem here? :-) DT

I have a bunch of email in my Yahoo account, and I guess I'm just going to have to read it on Yahoo's site for now.
DavidT
It does appear to be b0rken at this time ...but not for me, so I hope that any "fix" doesn't break mine. I have a normal US-based free account and the two test messages I've sent to that address in the last 24 hours were picked up just fine by the current SC popgate. Do you have the annoying power-mailer banner on your yahoo mail page where it pops up when you hover over it? I had to turn off my ad-blocking to see it. mrmaxx
FYI, it appears Yahoo has broken things again. I've got a bunch of email in my Yahoo account. I don't see any errors in my pop list, but it also doesn't appear to be downloading Yahoo mail any more either. I'm still on Yahoo "classic" but they've changed things around again. Probably in order to get us to pony up the $20(US) for "enhanced" access (including pop access.)

I've been having issues for a couple of weeks receiving messages dated in the year 2038 which never seem to be downloaded. I simply delete them and things begin working again. I have also had intermittant times when I get an "Invalid login" error in the POP config. Simply hitting the modify button (no changes made) removes the error message and starts mail flowing again. This is mostly normal mailing list traffic which is being sent to my Yahoo account. I'm not getting an "invalid login" error either. I did get a message, something like "error 4" one time, but I had just reset my password on both Yahoo and SpamCop so there was a decent chance I hadn't gotten the passwords synchronized yet.
