Wazoo Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 I signed up on this site because people I do business with told me I need to be able to get full e-mail headers from others. Told me if I went to this site I would get instructions on how to do it. For the purposes described, Registration here to post wasn't actually required. The SpamCop FAQ (both the Original/Official version at www.spamcop.net and the single-page-access-expanded version here are available for reading by anyone. The SpamCop Wiki is available to all for reading. The majority of previous posted Topics and Discussins are available to all for reading, which would also include the use of the various search tools provided .. all the above found at the top of this very page or just some simple perusal of content. Sounds simple to me,click here, click there, blah, blah, blah and your done. I have no idea !!!! It very well could be that simple. On the other hand, the reason for all the How to ask a good question links that appear to have been ignored is just for situations like this. You might be using some off-the-wall e-mail client tool or web-based e-mail account that is not just a simple click-click-click operation .. it might not even be possible. However, you neglected to offer up even the smallest clue as to just what tools are in your inventory ...???? Can you help me ?? "We" tried to help you long before you decided to Register here and PM me rather than actually posting so that other volunteers could take the crack at it. There are things called FAQs, which is short for Frequently Asked Questions. As happens all too often, your question is in fact the title to a whole section of both the Original and the expanded version of the FAQ as found here .... How do I get my email program to reveal the full, unmodified email? -----> See also the tutorials in the How to use .... > SpamCop Reporting section which also includes some 'technical' data in the entry Titled; OE6 Secure handling of e-mail - Why Forward won't work If so please contact me [at] <elided> Thank you, <elided> You fail to understand the way a public support Forum works. There is no reason for me to contact you on such a basic question, especially when it has been shown that you don't want to expend any energy on looking anything up for yourself. The only personal data involved I have elided from this copy of your PM, and actually that was a toss-up in my mind. PM Reply sent to point user to 'here' ... Possible hint for others wanting to jump in .. does AOL still advertise themselves as being "THE INTERNET" with all data and answers to everything?
Miss Betsy Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Why do you need full email headers? Seems like a strange request for a client to make. Or are you their customer? What kind of email program are you using to read your mail? As you can see from the FAQ, it makes a difference. Does your client (or the business you are a customer of) want you to be able to read headers or send the headers to them? You don't really have to know how to read them if all you are doing is forwarding them (again headers have to be forwarded as attachments which is different than just forwarding). IMHO, unless you are willing to spend some time in researching what headers are and how to ask a question, you might as well give up whatever project you have in mind - if this entity wants you to understand the headers. If they just want you to forward the headers to them for some reason, then you should be able to find out how to do that in the FAQs here. Miss Betsy
