I have been getting a lot of spam from senders spoofing our DNS name - so that the email appears to come from our website (a 15 year old site). I signed up for spamcop to report the abuse, and tried to send the header and paste the body into the report form. I kept getting "must include body" no matter what I sent - I think the spam used all graphics linked to a Russian site - so I tried forwarding the spam email with no attachment or explanation to the address shown in the Spamcop Report Form - I did not get a reply. I am using Outlook 2010 - is that what I am supposed to do? I don't want my forwarding info to be confused by Spamcop as the Originating IP because of Outlook not transmitting the header correctly? Thanks

There's a problem using Outlook to forward - see http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10245 (one solution is shown in the last post). See the SC FAQ (below) for others.
You should be able to use the website submission form though - just select the two-part "outlook/eudora workaround form" and paste the headers in the top part and the body (or enter the text "no body", if there's none) in the bottom part. Haven't used any recent version of Outlook myself but haven't heard of any issues. The headers need to be the full headers with the "Received:" lines and so-on. You are picking those up, I take it - you know how to get them? http://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/122.html is the official SC FAQ on the subject. -------------------- Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose
