[Resolved] "This email contains no date" message
JoeF replied to JoeF's topic in SpamCop Reporting Help
Got this again, and you are right. One of the "Received: from" lines doesn't have a date: ...Received: from <ip-address> by cmpweb23.aul.t-online.de with HTTP/1.1 (Lisa V3-6-4-0.12121 on API V3-23-0-0) -

I know how to get to old reports But since this was a parse error, it only says "No reports filed", and therefore doesn't have any tracking URL. -

Thanks. I don't have the email anymore, unfortunately. Will remember this next time it comes up. -
I get a "This email contains no date" message when I try to report some spam, but there is a Date: header in the mail: Date: Sun, 17 May 2015 10:00:24 +0200 The format looks correct, but the parser seems to choke on it. Any idea why?

I've googled a bit, and I found this very interesting analysis: http://tacit.livejournal.com/608386.html Basically, Namecheap runs an URL-forwarding service which is pretty much exclusively used by spammers and which allows them to claim that the domain isn't hosted by them. And they also don't act on reports if the spam email didn't com from their space (which in spam is the norm.) The bottom line: They are a spam sewer.

[Resolved] abuse[at]enom.com instead of/or in addition to abuse[at]namecheaphosting.com?
JoeF replied to Claus's topic in Routing / Report Address Issues
Hmm, now it says reporting to enom is disabled: https://www.spamcop.net/sc?track=http%3A%2F%2Fstartnow.inyounglook.ninja%2F "Routing details for 162.255.119.254 [refresh/show] Cached whois for 162.255.119.254 : abuse[at]namecheaphosting.com Reports disabled for abuse[at]enom.com" -
Namecheap does nothing. I have filed lots of reports, and they just ignore them. I was their customer, and also contacted them via Facebook and Twitter. They just stopped responding to me. I took the consequence and moved my domain registrations away from them. I just reported another spamvertised link pointing to namecheaphosting, and now Spamcop says reporting to namecheap/enom is disabled.
