Got this today, brilliant.

Attn Email user:

You have probably seen an increase in the amount of "junk mail" which shows=

up in your email box, or on your favorite newsgroup. This is because your =

Email Account have been Marked as spam, due to common reasons like sending =

and Receiving Unsolicited or spam Content, Logging through a Blacklisted IP=

Address or device, etc. =

To maintain the Internet's global interoperability for the public good, it =

is mandatory that you Authenticate Your Email Here and be free from spam.

Failure to Authenticate Email will leave us with no option than to Terminat=

e your Email Account, which means all your files in folders (Inbox, Sent, S=

pam, Trash, Draft) will be deleted and access to your Email denied.

Best Regards,

Ah, so cruel! Preying on those who feel insecure and who want to believe ICANN (or just any "authority") might take the lead in the fight against spamming and scamming. Just how many receiving that thing might inhabit the overlap of those two population sets is another matter. But using the name of Fadi Chehadé is a slight overkill.

But - almost the best yet. Lord help us when Gen Y-ners actually take up the reins and official-business correspondence adopts the "informal" style of phrasing and off-key vocabulary the little devils use. The best? Well, the "Nigerian Astronaut" still has my vote.

Link currently identified as malware/malicious site by Fortinet, Google Safebrowsing and Sophos, "suspicious" by AutoShun according to virustotal.com, 47 others have it as "clean" (most) or "unrated". sitecheck.sucuri.net flags it as malicious on the basis of the Google Safe Browsing result. audioetraducao.com (host of the linked site) should be reported to abuse[at]datafoundry.com but "ISP does not wish to receive reports regarding ..." Presumably they have done something about it though it still has an internet address on DNS lookup which is distinct from the base domain address and I'm not looking.

I have to be honest...when I first saw it, for half a second I thought maybe it was a real email because of my reports to spamcop and KNUJON. Haha...
