  1. I did notice that many, if not all of these spam emails contained "amazonaws" in amongst them. I decided to forward each one I received on one particular day to 'abuse@amazonaws.com'. As if by magic, I haven't had one since. Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe list washing, or maybe I found the right place to complain. Who knows.
  2. I have recently been getting emails purportedly from iPhone, Royal Mail, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Shark Tank etc... etc.... I followed the usual reporting route through SpamCop and since I reported the first one, I have been inundated with this junk. Not just one or two a day, but up to 15 per day which, as you can imagine can take a long time to report each time when you only flash up Outlook Express once a day.. The last one I reported today is https://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z6704562724z6e01746bb5c7f801fcc9b8665297c7eaz Reporting to abuse@microsoft.com or report_spam@hotmail.com, where it originates, seems obviously not to work but just to multiply the amount of spam that returns. All the spam has a common thread in the "reply to" field which contains in various different forms deutsche.xyz with or without extra characters. All of them have in common, https://optimized-by.rubiconproject.com plus the rest of an address. Is there a way of stopping this amount of spam or do we keep reporting through SpamCop?
  3. It's nice when this happens, it makes it much more worthwhile.
  4. This from the BBC website. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-35977227
  5. Another one came in today. Actually, since I mentioned it first, I had a break from newdream dot net junk. https://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z6207260584z735d67a144c5cc6e9c3d22325ae64b9dz
  6. Yes, although nice to see, another one came in today, I reported to the same place.
  7. Following a report through SpamCop, I got this. It's very pleasing when somebody takes reports seriously. ----------------------------------------- Hi Mike, This issue has been fixed. 8. Forgive me if I sound a bit dumb, but do you mean show the tracking url here in the forum, or somewhere else?
  9. ....with continual spam messages which, when reported, go to spamcop-fbl[at]hq.newdream.net and also to abuse[at]google.com and yet they still keep coming in, day after day. I suppose it will just keep on keeping on with no end in sight.
  10. Going on from this, is it worth actually continuing to report spam when every report is sent to devnull.spamcop.net? One spammer in particular is giving me grief in that I get at least three spam emails per day, if not more, all of which when reported, end up with the devnull.spamcop.net address.
  11. Yeah, I wish I knew an answer to the problem. Since I had posted my first comment, my 15 has risen to 25 spam posts, the most prolific being "Weight Loss Pills". I keep reporting, although I sometimes get disheartened with the increase in spam.
  12. ....or has there has been a sudden increase of spam? In my email, despite regular malware and virus scans, I have seen a dramatic increase in spam, everything from the normal sex stuff, cheap medicines, online casinos and even solar panels. 14 spam emails so far today! Hang on, make that 15, just got another one, Weight pills this time, that's the 5th Weight Pills Shop email today" <Grrrr!>
  13. Sorry I was not clear, it was the FROM name. It makes little difference since if we close them down, they spring up again elsewhere. The "From" name means nothing of course.
  14. This is just an observation and does not really require any answers, probably because there aren't any and I am just having a rant! Some while ago, I began receiving spam emails from a name of either Grand-Palace or Online-Casino (with, or without, and a mixture of, the hyphens and uppercase letters). I reported these through SpamCop and, slowly, they became less frequent and eventually stopped altogether. I was over the moon!! SpamCop and I (well, and probably others too) had shut down a major spam producer! So, here am I, enjoying my new freedom from the Online Casinos for a couple of months when my computer did the "you got mail" sound and a quick check showed it was from Grand-Palace. WTF!!!! I thought we had got rid of these people!? Well, we might have done for a short while, but they are back! I have received, and reported again, one on the 11th August and two on the 12th August. I suppose it just shows that you can fight 'em, but you can't kill 'em!
