  1. I own a S/MIME certificate linked to my email address. I have the public and private parts on my PGP 9 program. So I have exported both public and private parts, and then imported those onto my Spamcop's email account S/MIME options. When I click on the password link to enter the private key password, it fails. I have entered a new password for that S/MIME certificate using PGP 9, exported again the private and public parts, imported those onto Spamcop's email account S/MIME options, and it fails again. Is there a problem using S/MIME from Spamcop's ?

  3. Tried to send an email to someone. It's someone asking a question about TCP and I was just answering about the TCP timeout value.   4. Yes, exactly. I wanted to mean "word wrap" of course. Well, the webmail does truncate lines by inserting LF characters at their end, that's what I wanted to say but english is not my native tongue (being french) so I don't always use the proper words. I set it to 72 chars so I can have up to 2 or 3 levels of quoting and when I hit the reply button, those lines don't get mangled with insertion of > characters. In fact, I have been using Unix for such a long time that I have the habit of inserting line feeds myself at the end of sentences below that 72 chars per line Hopefully, I have since learned how to properly use nvi so it automatically inserts the LF I want I'm at work right now (as I have been the last two days) so I don't have much time to check the FAQ and all details around but I will do today later. As a fix that does not require FAQ modification, if the Spamcop has to answer "Error" after replying to the email received for registering a new Mailhost, a line could be added to the error email message to give an hint that line truncating below XXX will result in failure. That should be easier than trying to fit that into the FAQ and pretty effective since the error message is the first thing we read in detail once we get it
  6. What do you mean ? If by submissions you mean the spams I do report, I do that from Spamcop's webmail and the "Held Mail" folder. I click on spams (sometimes I do open a few to be sure they are spams when it's not obvious by Subject) and report them as spam. The Spamcop answer that comes back shows there is no problem in the parsing at all.
  7. It worked. The problem was the webmail was truncating at 72 chars. I have now registered this new email and I am setting the webmail back to 72 characters (that's the default I use when I'm using mutt on my beloved NetBSD box). Perhaps FAQ should explain that the message must not be truncated and that the mailer, if configured to truncate lines "too short" will result in Spamcop believe the message has been mangled (which is not wrong from its point of view). Problem solved.
  8. Does not work at all. I have tried again and received a message. I have clicked on "Reply" and I have pasted a copy of the full message. In order to recover the full message, I have copied its "message source" with headers. I pasted that into the Compose window of Spamcop's webmail and sent it. An error came back within a few minutes : Hello SpamCop user, Sorry, but SpamCop has encountered errors: Headers mangled It appears that the sample you provided has been altered. Often, extra line-breaks are inserted by your software in an invalid format. Part of the reason for this proceedure is to ensure that you and your software are submitting spam in an error-free format. Please review the relevant FAQ for your software and ensure you are following a proceedure which returns intact spam content to SpamCop. In this sample, the problem was found near the line: -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO c60.cesmail.net) (192.168.1.105) I guess the problem is because my webmail is configured to truncate lines length at 71 or 72 characters or so. I am going to try again, using 80 characters per line.

  11. I got a Webmail account. Since yesterday, every spam found in held mail and reported sends me back an email with a continuous list of "no ip found".   13. I had a spam in the held email folder. I clicked on the checkbox and by mistake I clicked on "Release and whitelist" instead of clicking on "Report as spam". I went to the Inbox to report that message as spam but should I do something now that I whitelisted something that was a spam ?
  14. My friend has turned off the comment line in his PGP. Now it works as fine as previously.
  15. We have found the source of the problem. It's the comment line that gets truncated by the webmail. We have been trying various versions of PGP and the problem is not because of his PGP version or anything. Spamcop's message just says it cannot decrypt. But if the message is saved to disk and GnuPG used over it, it gets interesting : gpg: invalid armor header: www.pgp.com It thinks this line is an header. It means it's in a beginning of line, where it should not be. By removing the carriage return at the line before, PGP and GnuPG are now able to decrypt properly the enciphered message. Since my friend is using a free version of PGP, he cannot remove that comment line. And I do think, too, that PGP armored content should be formated to 71 or 72 characters wide so PGP is in fault here, as too long lines do get truncated often. So is there a way for me to ask Spamcop's webmail NOT to truncated lines in PGP received content so I can decrypt from the webmail, rather than having to save to the disk the PGP message, remove the carriage return and decrypt it locally. I'm at work, using a Windows 2k machine which has no swap encryption as my NetBSD at home... Glad to have found why it fails. Now I need a fix
  16. It worked. I have selected each checkbox then selected the option. The columns have been filled. It seems that now each time new mail is put onto a folder, when the page refreshes then the line gets bold to mark new mail. Strange Thanks for your kind help
  17. Works fine. So my friend is probably sending mangled data to me But when he signs it works I have created a new key today because we thought it was the key that was bad.
  18. When I select the "Folders" view, only the INBOX line shows : New : X Total : X But all other lines don't display anything albeit some folders do contain emails. Is there some option I forgot to use ? I have created filters so emails from NetBSD lists I am subscribed to are dropped in each folder according to the mailing list. But I would like to have numbers in the last columns so when I check the folder view I know how many new emails are in each folder When I want values to appear I am forced to select each line manually (there is no checkbox to select all lines at once, sadly) and ask the webmail to update the values. If the page is reloaded every 5 minutes (as it seems on my webmail) can the values be recalculated ?
  19. I am using GnuPG from the webmail. I connect to the webmail using a HTTPS connection, and I have a key pair there. One of my friends that I was exchanging emails from can no longer send me any GnuPG protected emails. Previously, it worked just fine. Now whatever the message he sends me I get this error : This message has been encrypted with PGP. Could not decrypt PGP data. I can still verify the GnuPG emails but I cannot decipher. So I have created a new keypair and gave him the public key. We checked directly that the fingerprint was OK. When he sends me an email, I still get the same error message. I can verify his messages but not decipher them. If I send myself an email (enciphered + signed) it is decrypted correctly. He is using Twofish as defautl cipher on his key. We have tried with AES 256 bits, but the problem is the same. He has not modified anything on his side. His key is the same, no change. He is using PGP Desktop 9.0.2 What is happening ? Is there a possibility of seeing in the near future an upgrade of the GnuPG installed and used from the Webmail ? It's not a recent version there :/ I don't know what's happening. I can verify so I got the good public key. But as soon he sends me an email, I cannot decipher while it worked fine previously. I have tried with and without checking the option "Check body for PGP content" but there is no change.

I am using Firefox 1.0.6 I have set my fonts manually and clicked the checkbox "Use my fonts" I have selected Bitstream Vera Sans Mono font (monosize font size) but the display is not using fixed size font Source shows : <td class="text" align="left"><p class="fixed"> So it should be using a CSS fixed thing but I don't get the fixed font display. I have also tried "Courrier New" but no change either. If I ask Firefox to use "Courrier New" for the "Proportional fonts" then the whole page becomes correct. There is something wrong with IMP as used by Spamcop's webmail and Firefox. :angry:
  22. I'm using the Spamcop webmail to gather my emails. I have been looking at the options and I can't find how to ask the webmail to display all emails using a fixed-font. I do receive some electronics-oriented mailing-lists and we use fixed-font to draw diagrams of electronics and having the webmail use proportional fonts is horrible Thanks.
  23. What is the "full reporting" exactly ? The spam stuff I receive is mostly in the "Held emails" folder and sometimes I got some spam that falls into the INBOX. I either click on spams when subject is obviously a spam and report them as such, and when in doubt I open the spam and release/report it as spam as required. I don't understand what you call the "quick reporting" exactly. Do you mean I have to open each spam and check it's really one before reporting them as such ?
  24. It's done. I have configured the Mailhosts for each of my 3 external accounts. Seems to work fine and it was rather easy So I need to wait some time before reporting any other spam or can I report spam as it gets into my Inbox as I have been doing until now ?
