dahat
When making a report this afternoon: http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z5484396743z7...b35c2d6654893az Upon inspecting the addresses that the report was to be sent to... something seemed off, two instances of t#l.com, and one of #.com. Maybe I've just gotten used to abuse[at] or similar name on what looks like a legitimate hosting domain name... the gmail account made me do a bit of searching, and it seems Spamhaus links that address to one '#', a known-no-good nic: http://www.spamhaus.org/rokso/evidence/ROK...-spam-adam-bate While the #.com address seems to belong to one # of # & #, both of which seem rather shady: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1232213 http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=626287 At the very least, #.com should be stripped the spamcop db as a potential reporting target given the likelihood of such an identifying report getting back to the spammer... though #.com still strikes me as a fishy reporting address. Am I crazy?
MainID
Maybe I've just gotten used to abuse[at] or similar name on what looks like a legitimate hosting domain name...I have seen this several times before. Some report to a Hotmail account and some to a Gmail account. Me not knowing if these are real spam reporting accounts I just cancel them!!
