Issues sending messages from Webmail on Firefox MAC

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help on this? I am running Spamcop Webmail on an older Macbook Pro, OS 10.6.8 using the latest version of Firefox. For s few weeks, EVERY time I try to send a message, the window sits there forever with a "waiting for webmail.spamcop.net" browser message below it. Eventually, I get this screen:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Apache/2.0.55 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.1.2 mod_ssl/2.0.55 OpenSSL/0.9.8a Server

at Port 80

The messages turn out to actually send every time. (I sent some poor recruiter 6 message copies before I realized what was happening.)

Spamcop support has no idea was it could be. It does NOT happen in Chrome, haven't tried on Safari but I suspect it is a Horde/Firefox issue.

Any ideas?? This is maddening. There are features in Firefox that are not possible (that I know of) in any other browser.

I can't duplicate your problem either. I'm running OSX 10.9.4 with FF 31.0. Sent myself a test message from SC webmail without any issue.

After 9/31/14 you won't be able to send outgoing mail via SC anyway, so maybe time to look for another outgoing server.

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I am on the FF Beta program and this issue occurs both with 31 and with 32 which was just released (and like every recent release for quite a while, it is very stable so far).. Based on your lack of issues with your Mac setup, I think I will experiment with FF in Safe Mode and with selectively disabling add-ons and extensions.

And I am of course aware of the pending changes in SC mail and am watching the various forum threads on options and alternatives. If anyone has some additional helpful feedback on that I'd love to hear it!
