Jimemac Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Here's my stupid question cause I've never been able to figure it out. What does LART mean?
Merlyn Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Lart: Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool. 1. n. In the collective mythos of scary devil monastery, this is an essential item in the toolkit of every BOFH scary devil monastery: Anagram frequently used to refer to the newsgroup alt.sysadmin.recovery, which is populated with characters that rather justify the reference. BOFH: Bastard Operator From Hell. A system administrator with absolutely no tolerance for lusers. Luser: A user; especially one who is also a loser. (luser and loser are pronounced identically.) This word was coined around 1975 at MIT.
qjvgpuryy Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 You might also want to mention the Jargon File, which contains these definitions and many more, and which is fun and interesting reading (at least for me).
