Reporting increases spam?

I have often read in the forums threads from people assering that their spam load seemed to increase after they started reporting. "Seemed" is the operative word.

If you are not reporting, spam is almost "transparent." You are aware of it as you scan the TRASH folder for false positives, but it doesn't really impact you. However, once you start reporting, you become very aware of how much spam you receive because you must work with it so closely--you suddenly start noticing.

So, does spam increase when you report it? No. Do you become more aware of spam when you report it? Brother, do you ever!
