Spamcop + Spamhaus XBL == huge reduction in spam

Yesterday I added the Spamhaus XBL DNSBL to my mail server. I had been using the regular Spamhaus RBL along with the Spamcop and ORDB lists. After adding the spamhaus XBL stuff I've seen a big improvement. There are duplicate entries in spamcop's RBL and the spamhaus RBL but the spamhaus DNS server seems faster so I've been using it first in the list.

Out of 150 spam attempts between yesterday and part of today (it is currently about 10 AM my time) only three made it through! And Mozilla's filters caught all of those. (whoops, make that four :( )

Either way, theses two tools combined make a very effective tool in the war. Keep it up spamcop - I'll keep subscribing and reporting.

I find this combination to be pretty deadly. Not for the faint of heart though....

FEATURE(dnsbl, `dnsbl.sorbs.net', `"554 Rejected " $&{client_addr} " found in dnsbl.sorbs.net"')dnl

FEATURE(dnsbl,`sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org',`"550 Mail from site rejected; see http://www.spamhaus.org"')dnl

FEATURE(enhdnsbl,`bl.spamcop.net',`"550 Server blocked see: http://spamcop.net/bl.shtml?"$&{...`t')dnl

FEATURE(dnsbl, `relays.ordb.org', `"550 Email rejected due to sending server misconfiguration - see http://www.ordb.org/faq/\#why_rejected"')dnl

They keep the list here pretty well updated:

Please, no flames about sendmail. I see plenty of those on trash-dot (mostly by people who don't have a clue) ;-)
