Merlyn Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Internet spam cops threaten anti-spam vendor http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/5027/53/ Australian anti-spam vendor TotalBlock Pty Ltd has been threatened with a service shutdown by its Internet Service Provider (ISP) after being wrongly accused of sending spam. Good reading.........
Telarin Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 For example, spammers can set up Trojans to send spam to users ‘spoofed’ to be from legitimate IP addresses. The address is reported and denied service; And how exactly does one spoof an IP address in what must be a two-way conversation between servers by design? Methinks this person is mixing up his terms badly, or is a PR guy that has little or no understanding of the actual SMTP process.

Merlyn Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 If they are developing their company on a challenge response system then they are in for a rude awakening.
