I've done my best over the last month to get rid of these parasites.

Last week, I thought i've caused them enough trouble to get me off their spam lists. Was I wrong? Yes, I certainly was. This sh** have now escalated, and I am calling it a loss.

I am getting rid of my email-address. as of now.

These f*ckin punks got to me. I can't stand this sh** any longer.

...The subject and content of your post don't seem to jibe. To whom are you apologizing and for what offense? :) <g>

...You could look at the spam flood as an opportunity to submit SpamCop reports, thus keeping the white-hat providers alerted and the incompetent and evil ones on the blacklist. :) <g>

Flexus;

Isn't there a "Victims of spam Abuse" recovery & support group in your 20? It wasn't your fault. You don't have to carry the guilt and the shame any longer. You are not alone.

You didn't mention the scale of your email address abuse, or if it is business, web site, or home related.

As a home desktop camper, I was hit heavily for a couple of months, reaching a high of 1291 (184 p/day) for the week of Oct. 16-22 to my default/personal email account. This dropped to 119 (17 p/day) for Nov. 20-26. If I am understanding the gist of what I have picked up on this forum and other readings, these barrages tend to happen in waves and have little to do with the behaviour of operators who practice reasonable precaution.

Unless you've determined that your ISP is contributing to your problem, perhaps you might consider trying to weather the storm for a while. I thought of doing the same thing until I considered the very real possibility (dead certainty) that someone on my mailing list might already be infected and had provided my email address to some "ubergoof" who in turn sold it to the spammerage. If this is a possibility in your case, there is no telling how long before you would be back in the snipers' sights again; ...eh?

Besides, I came to the practical realization that I already have all the tools necessary to deep-six all the spam I get if that is the only issue, and that my real motivation to forsake my address was based on just being blinkin' pixxed at creeps who have absolutely no emotional or practical investment in anything I might do. I'm not going to sell the house and move just because some jerkette got perverted satisfaction out of letting her Cocker (RIP) crap in my pansie patch and pixx on my Abraham Darby.

Thanks a lot for your insights - as well as for your support.

The scale of it is just personal. Up until just a couple of months ago, I'd never experienced this crap. That's perhaps why I'm stunned by this flood of nonsense which is now overwhelming me.

Well, about my ISP; It's the largest one in Sweden, but I will certainly bring this up with them. Did not think of that, but these guys are surely selling themselves as "secure", and so forth. And as far as I'm concerned, for ten years things have been working just fine.

Flexus;

Here are a few recent articles that might give you some background on what has been happening lately.

… these might shed some light… or give you ammunition, whatever, …if you decide to discuss things with them.

You didn’t (specifically) mention what email client spam filtering options you have. There are several ways to mitigate the assault you are getting and several ways to respond if you want to report it. Many ISPs insert flagging in the headers that enable some mail clients to billet spam to an appropriate folder(s) to an appreciable extent. Bahnhof doesn’t seem to have a FAQ page in anything but Swedish, so I can’t tell just what spam identification service they provide… although I was impressed by their offering clients up to 60 email addresses!

FYI: It isn't necessary to quote the entire message you are replying to; especially mine. Most visitors to this site find reading my submissions once is quite enough; mercifully.
