Mole report added to Black List?

I use MailWasher to pre-screen email. I have it set so that an email source that is already in the SpamCop database is automatically bounced and deleted.

However lately, spammers I have reported are not making it on the black list.

If a spam email is reported as a mole, does it still get entered into the SpamCop blacklist database?

My understanding of the current situation is that NO, the numbers of reports are available to the ISP's but are weighted at zero, so they will not cause a blacklisting.

is automatically bounced

Please, please, please turn off that feature. Since the return address is forged in almost all spam, you are simply passing your spam off onto someone else in the form of an unreportable bounce.

Mole reports do not count towards the blocklist altho they are evaluated for other purposes.

Please do *not* bounce spam as the bounces are undoubtedly going to the forged from addresses and filing up innocent mailboxes.

And what makes it worse is that innocent parties getting those bounces cannot report them as spam.

...Sure they can! They just are not permitted to have SpamCop submit the report (or make it appear that SpamCop generated the report). :) <g>

For that matter, they could also report (not through spamcop) the user of mailwasher for bouncing messages incorrectly. I do that for every misdirected bounce I receive.
