Planned Maintenance Window - Thursday, September 17, 2009

Scheduled server maintenance and software upgrades will be taking place starting at 11:00 am. PDT (-0700)

Thursday, September 17, 2009. During this time the SpamCop Reporting Service website will not be

available for a period of up to four hours in duration. Emailed spam submissions will be accepted,

but will not be immediately processed. There will be a delay in processing submitted spam once

the systems are brought back online.

This will not affect the SpamCop/CESmail email service, newsgroups or forums.

Sorry, I meant to post yesterday, then realized I didn't have the SC

news server set up on my laptop. One thing lead to another....

The system is down for approximately four hours beginning at 11:00am PDT

(-0700) for software upgrades. This doesn't affect SpamCop mail

accounts or access. Submissions are accepted, but processing is delayed

until the systems are brought back up. When the systems are back

online, expect a processing delay due to backlog.

I also just got word this maintenance will not fix the 'unreported spam'

bug/issue. That fix is currently in QA and they expect to hot patch on

Monday to fix that and a couple of other issues.

I stand corrected. Because the maintenance took longer than expected

(they always forget how big our DB is and how long syncing takes), the

hot patch went ahead Thursday. The 'unreported spam' issue should now

be fixed.

Let us know if you see otherwise. Thanks,

Richard
