craigt
Amazing -- until about a year ago if I got 1 spam / month into my SpamCop email it was a lot. Now there's about 100 / day. Guess I wouldn't make a very good spammer; it'd seem like a bad idea sending spam into an email at a site who's function was reporting spam??!!? Geek
Bots aren't picky Mine had dropped off for a bit until that virus started hitting bigtime a month or so ago. Now actually I get little spam compared to viruses sent. Cheers!
dra007
That virus did the trick though, I am seeing a 10-100 fold increase in mostly viagra spam after a wave of Facebook/ups viruses which fortunately has subsided.. I wish there was a way to get in the minds of these idiots if they have any, it seems to be purposless; it certainly doesn't enrich them not only I will never buy fromthem but I report every single piece of spam I get to multiple agencies, so I am certainly making it as hard for them as they are annoying me.. Geek
I'm seeing a huge spike in forum spams. I've blocked more than 200 I.P.'s caught-in-the-act in the last 72 hours and it didn't put a dent in the spam registrations one iota. 100% of the ads have been Russian this time. Zero Chinese (unusual). I do believe an entire new botnet has been created. *sigh*
