mrmaxx
Just got to wondering, what is the "official" SpamCop position on spew that is allegedly in compliance with the USA CAN-spam Act, i.e. has a removal URL or other way to "opt-out" of the spew? My thinking is report it anyway, as there is no way to be sure that's not just a way to confirm your email address. Any Deputies want to chime in? turetzsr
Just got to wondering, what is the "official" SpamCop position on spew that is allegedly in compliance with the USA CAN-spam Act <snip> ...Not explicitly mentioned but implied that it is reportable provided it meets other requirements in SpamCop FAQ entry labeled "On what type of email should I (not) use SpamCop?"Any Deputies want to chime in?...See SpamCop Admin (Don D'Minion) reply to the second "QUOTE" in SpamCop Forum "thread" "How do I find out who complained about me?" about a spam that claims to be CAN-spam compliant. SpamCopAdmin
Just because the email is legal doesn't make it right. Unsolicited Commercial Email is spam, period. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - service[at]admin.spamcop.net -
kmolloy
CAN-spam compliance means that the email is not legally actionable. It doesn't mean it's not spam. Report away!
