mrmaxx Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I keep running into these emails where the spamvertised website is hosted by the Russian NIC, and I even use a different email besides "abuse[at]nic.ru" but SpamCop still sends the emails to dev/null. Is there any way to get SpamCop to agree to send these emails when the UCE originates or spamvertises sites on boxes hosted directly by the NIC? Or is this just another one of those cases of "sorry, SpamCop only reports spamvertised URLs as a convenience."
SpamCopAdmin Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 On the parse page, SpamCop says: "I refuse to bother abuse[at]nic.ru." Generally, SpamCop doesn't like to send reports to nic addresses. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net -

And I understand, most times, they have nothing to do with the spam, but there are times when they ARE the host, so, to my way of thinking, they should be notified.
