Cancelled former ISP, still getting email

I cancelled my original ISP and I am still receiving email, primarily spam. I forgot to turn off forwarding before cancelling and have no way to do this. I am thinking about abandoning this system if I can't resolve the issue.

I found that when I started using spamcop my spam levels increased dramatically. Could this be a way for spammers to taunt us?

It sounds like you need to contact your former ISP and point out that they are absorbing the cost of continuing to handle your e-mail. If you're still receiving the Forwards, they haven't killed your Inbox on their system, perhaps waiting for you to see the error of your way and eventually return to their fold?

The generic "spam increased after" includes too much turf to go into here. Too many variables involved .. how do you report, what care do you take, what did you do before using SpamCop, what was the timing of your incoming spam spew levels and the discovery of SpamCop, on and on .....
