StevenUnderwood Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 After forwarding a recent paypal spoof email to spoof<at>paypal.com I received this new reply: Thank you for contacting PayPal Customer Service. In an effort to assist you as quickly and efficiently as possible, please direct all customer service inquires through our website. Click on the hyperlink below to go to the PayPal website. After entering your email address and password into the Member Log In box, you can submit your inquiry via our Customer Service Contact form. If you indicate the type of question you have with as much detail as you can, we will be able to provide you with the best customer service possible. Do they assume everyone who receives these messages has a paypal account? They do not seem to indicate that as possible on their email message, though there was a link on the site they directed me to. I believe there was another organization that did the same thing within the last few months. Because of this change, I will be sending no more messages to paypal directly. IFF the email has a link to paypal will they get any notification (through spamcop) but that appears to also go to the same address (plus a couple others. Just giving a heads up to others who do additional reporting.
