eschaum
Just got a spam that spamcop is unable to deal with. I've never seen this before, there are no addresses in the header except for localhost. Here's a link to the report: http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z674589308z18...3089db544876d2z
dbiel
There are several possiblities but without knowing just how you submitted the spam to SpamCop it is more difficult to guess at what is the true case. It would appear that you did a cut and paste type of reporting and if we can assume that you were able to paste the entire headers, the assumption would be that the spam came from the same server/provider that you are using to receive your mail from. Can you resubmit that same spam via "forward as attachement" and then compare the headers. This may show a different set of data and avoids the problems with header distortion caused by some mail readers. Note: Merlyn provides some excellent insights in the next post. Merlyn
This spammer has many sightings in NANAS Via phone number lookup: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=888-238-...&sa=N&scoring=d Including an email matching yours and a regular Google lookup by phone provides more samples. It looks like he uses open proxies and if your provider is att.net they might have a problem with the server not providing correct headers. This could be because it was an open proxy on their own system or many other reasons but the receiving server should have recorded the IP it connected to/received from. dbiel
If you would like to report this spam, you could send a report yourself directly to your provider "worldnet.att.net" and asking for their help. It is best to use the procedures that they have provided for their users to report problems rather than the methods used by SpamCop which are designed to be sent to someone other than your own provider.
