Tedr Posted March 8, 2004 Share Posted March 8, 2004 I wonder is it worth the amount of time it takes to report spam as a 'mole'. I (so far) have recieved no feedback on any of the reporting that I've done - an I have not noticed any decrease in the volume of spam I'm recieving - I could become paranoid about the number of penile enlargement ads I recieve (how do they know??!). Is there any method of finding out how the information I supply is used and whether it is worth continuing to 'invest' my time? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Report only those spam you have time for, the latest arrived, first. Or you can use some other criterion like all the porn spams. Reporting spam doesn't reduce spam in the short term. But in the long term, the use of blocklists is reducing the amount of spam people receive and making it harder for spammers to find ways to send it because ISP's do not want to be blocked. Spammers now use open proxies and compromised machines because it is getting harder and harder to find an ISP who will permit them to spam.
