SpamCop could not find your spam message in this email:

I am new to spamcop, but have spent a good part of the day attacking the several hundred spam messages a day receive.

As I have analysed the spam, I had determined that there were several nonexistant email addresses on my domain that are forwarding to my account (catchall).

At the control panel level (helm), I created an email forwarding rule to send messages directed to these nonexistent mailboxes directly to spamcop via the email address provided on the report spam page.

IT has triggered several times, but I am getting the following error from spamcop:

SpamCop encountered errors while saving spam for processing:

SpamCop could not find your spam message in this email:

I did not see this covered in the forums anywhere else (i apologize in advance if I missed it, but again I am new to this) but are there any suggestions as what I have misconfigured that is prohibiting me from accomplishing my goal? I can see the original full header in the message, so I am confused.

An example full error message follows:

You chose to use some 'bad' words that probably tie into the issue .... it all starts with this line;

I created an email forwarding rule to send messages directed to these nonexistent mailboxes directly to spamcop

The tool in use is not defined.

You have chosen to publicly publish your "secret" reporting address .... you are going to have to talk to Don about getting a new account ....

The word "Forward" has simply too many vaiables, definitions, etc. involved. However, in most cases of the "spam not found" errors, this is where the problem ends up being .. the "Forwarded e-mail" is not in the proper 'construction' .....

Hi, R!

...Wow, Wazoo must like you for some reason, as he failed to point out the fact that you appear to have missed a key point about your post. For your future reference and both yours and our convenience, please see pinned announcement (at the top of the main page of this Forum, "SpamCop Reporting Help") that is labeled "Announcement: [How-to] Post a Question (and prevent stupid/rude answers)" and note especially information referring to "The Details." Oddly enough, you seem to have gotten almost all the other suggestions there right -- you "did not see this covered in the forums anywhere else" which implies that you did "search first," you posted to the right forum, your topic title meets the criteria specified.

...Thanks for posting your question and good luck in finding an answer. Hopefully we can help more, once you've addressed the questions raised by Wazoo. :) <g>

...By the way, speaking of whether this matter is covered in the SpamCop forums anywhere else, I copied the error message "SpamCop could not find your spam message in this email" (including the quote marks) into the "Search for" box near the top of this screen and got 363 hits. If you have a few minutes to spare, you might try that (note that the gray area around the "Search for" text is a "button" you press to initiate the search) and have a look at some of the links that are displayed.
