sybadru
Hi, I want spamcop to direct reports of spam originating from my mailservers/other machines I am responsible for to abuse[at]ourISP. Currently these reports are being sent to the ISP who co-locates our servers who I don't trust to forward these reports to us in a timely manner (if at all). I've configured my mailhosts but we use a different machine for outgoing mail. I've signed up an ISP account and supplied the IP addresses of machines we admin but this doesn't seem to have done anything for me. Where to take it from here? Advice appreciated. -Dru. Farelf
Well, You should be able to get summary reports through your ISP account - http://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/94.html but you want to get the primary reports direct? Sounds like you're listed as the reporting address with abuse.net - http://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/343.html - http://www.abuse.net/addnew.phtml Can only suggest you contact Don D'Minion - service[at]admin.spamcop.net If anyone can help you it will be Don. Wazoo
I've configured my mailhosts the MailHost Configuration of 'Your' Reporting Account is only applicable to ... guess what ... your Reporting Account. but we use a different machine for outgoing mail. I've signed up an ISP account and supplied the IP addresses of machines we admin but this doesn't seem to have done anything for me. Where to take it from here? In the ancient days, thee was a minmum requirement of a /25 for receiving direct reports (among other things.) However, that particular FAQ entry was modified years ago, with no update or replacement. However, that you also state that these addresses in question are even 'on loan' doesn't bode well for a positive response. You may be able o ask for being allowed to go for an interested third party but even that sounds like a stretch. That you don't trust your upstream doesn't paint a very pretty picture at all. Farelf has provided about the only possible attempt at a solution, but it would seem that you're going to have to do some pretty good 'convincing' ....
