Mail host setup problem

Recommended Posts

Forgive my naivete here, but this mailhost stuff is really baffling.

Here's my mail configuration:

1. I always post spams using the web, after logging in to a paid account.

2. I have 6 or 7 addresses to which I get spam.

3. I use Outlook Express to download them. All but one of them sit on my website ISP's server until I download them. They are not forwarded. There are 7 separate accounts, e.g., work at cqs.com, consult at cqs.com, freereport at cqs.com.

So I assume that I need to just register these 6 or 7 addresses so they don't get tagged as spam origins.

Is this correct? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

Thanks much

Jonathan Campbell

Not a dumb question, in fact it is quickly becoming a FAQ (Frequently asked question) probably due to the wording on the signup page.

If all the cqs.com addresses pass through the same servers (likely) you will only need to register one of those.

You will need to register the one address that comes in via a different path.

If you had an alternate domain (ie.admin.cqs.com) that passed through different servers, you would need to register one of those as well.

Good luck and let us know how things work out.

Ok send me your registered SC email address and the tracking url from one of these spams and an explanation of the problem .... deputies <at> spamcop.net

Done. I got a waiver before I saw the reply. It stopped working, so I sent the headers by email.
