Hello, i don't know if its right place to post. But we are renting a VDS server vrom some hoster. And they have rule that if spam report has come. We need to delete acouts that where spam reported.

But the problem is that spam was send not from our servers. It was send by a third parties, so onyone could send it. In report letter there is no our addresses in sender field.

What should we do in this case? Here is text of spam reporting letters.

Does this fit your case? I don't see anything in your post that suggests that the SpamCop Blacklist is involved. It seems that you are just asking a general question about how to respond to an alleged spam report. If that's true, I'd suggest that your post best fits the "SpamCop Lounge" forum ("This forum is for discussion of pretty much anything that doesn't quite fit the other specific Help Forum categories, ...."). If you agree, please post back here and I'll be happy to move it for you.

...Did your hoster tell you what makes them think your server is the source of the spam? That might help us answer your question. But if your servers are not the source of the spam, the best I can think of for you to do is to send precisely that reply to your hoster; something like, "Thank you for passing this spam report to us. We would like to address your concern but we can not find evidence in this report that our server is the source of this spam. If you would kindly pass that information to us, we will take prompt action to try to identify the offending account and remove it."

Hello again we got reply from our support they insist that we should delete this accounts. and they aknowladge that spam was sent not from our servers.

what is spamcop policy about when spam was not send from our services. may be it was wrong report to our hoster. how should we deal with this situation?

if our host is not responsible for spaming of this sites. why send him abuse report? what can he do to stop this spam?

And how to deal with this situation to convince our hoster that he dosn't have to react for this report?

Don will, perhaps, be able to give you an official response from Spamcop.

The difference, of course, is that the spam is not the content but the item that is delivered. So Spamcop's primary interest is identifying the sending IP address and getting the owners to stop spam arriving from that address.

In the meantime, any website URLs in the offending message are passed to the owners of the ip address involved for them to review and determine whether the website owner is responsible for the spam. The ISP should investigate and take action when appropriate.

Based on your account, that's what your ISP has done but, according to your description, have come to an incorrect conclusion. Many spammers use innocent web URLs in attempt to confuse the block list parsing and to make the spam appear legitimate. Looking at what you describe that seems to be what has happened to you.

Your ISP should understand this. But in the end it is their service and they make their own rules. If you want to continue to give them your business then you'll have to persuade them that they are wrong or go along with their rules.

Suggest you steer your Host to SpamCop Report Types and/or Innocent Bystander for an explanation of the situation you seem to be trying to describe.
