showker Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Quite often recently Spamcop is returning an error that it cannot find a domain, or cannot find the IP block . . . I check and yes, there it is in broad daylight. ???? http://www.ugnn.com/safenetting/ALERTS/spamcop_lost.jpg Cannot "resolve" domain . . . but I went there, found the Russian drug cartel again, and then pinged it, tracked it and found the owner in Holland. ????
turetzsr Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 ...See the SpamCop FAQ article "SpamCop reporting of spamvertized sites - some philosophy," especially the sentence that begins "Some research done results in the URL being found active...."
Farelf Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 ... Cannot "resolve" domain . . . but I went there, found the Russian drug cartel again, and then pinged it, tracked it and found the owner in Holland. ???? Yes, but not with the trace data posted in your image? I show that one resolving (without rDNS): C:\Documents and Settings\Admin>nslookup kimmejobhomereports.com ... Non-authoritative answer: Name: ns1.kimmejobhomereports.com Address: 195.54.166.13 C:\Documents and Settings\Admin> The FULL SC response on parse of the domain (feeding just the URI into the submission box on the member page) is Parsing input: http://www.kimmejobhomereports.com No recent reports, no history available Host www.kimmejobhomereports.com (checking ip) IP not found; www.kimmejobhomereports.com discarded as fake. www.kimmejobhomereports.com is not a routeable IP address Cannot resolve http://www.kimmejobhomereports.com/ No valid email addresses found, sorry! There are several possible reasons for this: . The site involved may not want reports from SpamCop. . SpamCop administrators may have decided to stop sending reports to the site to prevent listwashing. . SpamCop uses internal routeing to contact this site, only knows about the internal method and so cannot provide an externally-valid email address. . There may be no working email address to receive reports. So, given that the site actually resolves to DNS queries, there may be excellent reasons for not sending reports to the host, krionet.com.ua, or if that is, as it seems, unintentional (one thing I've learned is parser messages can be quite misleading), it might be a happy accident as it certainly looks domain and hosting are entirely spammy and there is (maybe) no point in reporting or reporting may aid the spammer.
