Question about Hotmail accounts going "inactive"

Recommended Posts

Hi. As a subscriber to Hotmail (with Spamcop downloading from there), I got a message from MSN saying that if a subscriber doesn't login at least once in 30 days, the account goes inactive.

Since (as I understand it) Spamcop logs in as if it were me in order to download my mail, I figured that takes care of the requirement.

But am I right? Just checking....

Thanks!

Hi.  As a subscriber to Hotmail (with Spamcop downloading from there), I got a message from MSN saying that if a subscriber doesn't login at least once in 30 days, the account goes inactive.

I got the same message from them today.

I don't think that Hotmail is treating the "popgate" retrievals of our messages as a normal login, so no, I think we will still have to log in at least once a month to keep them happy and not to lose our saved messages and whatever else Hotmail dumps from an inactive account.
