turetzsr
...Neither the "Mark all posts as read" nor the "Mark all forums as read and return to index" options seem to be having any effect today.
StevenUnderwood
Steve, Which site are you having these problems with? I just checked inside of webmail and had no problem marking my Inbox messages as read.
turetzsr
...Ooh, good question, Steven -- it would help if I identified where the problem is, wouldn't it? <g> ...It's the SpamCop Forum.
Wazoo
IPB support Forum has lots of complaints about the way the read/unread thing works in this application <g> The bottom line seems to boil down to cookie issues. So that would be the first suggestions .. kill off your old cookie and see if that clears it up ..
StevenUnderwood
...Ooh, good question, Steven -- it would help if I identified where the problem is, wouldn't it? <g> ...It's the SpamCop Forum. 26255[/snapback] I would go with Wazoo's answer as well since that function is also working for me. What I do not understand is how a local cookie on one machine can tell the spamcop site which messages I have read so that I only get the unread ones on another machine. Wazoo
There's actually a combination of stuff going on .... there is the cookie that contains some specific data .. but when coming from another machine (no existing cookie) then data from the user database is pulled up and that includes bits of data like last visit, last activity, last post made, last Topic started, etc. ... which of course then (attempts to) write a new cookie. turetzsr
...It's working, now. I hit the link to clear cookies, did a bunch more viewing, logged out, closed browser, brought it back and all is well, again.
