ragtop1000 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I am so very frustrated. This morning I received 2 totally blank emails. NO TO:. CC: or Subject, total body of message was empty. I Deleted them, opened properties and pulled the ip's, then dumped them. I also received one last week that I tracked down to a computer science dept at a large University out West. Any one have a clue what I am dealing with? I appreciate any help you can extend. The ip's from todays emails lead me to a dead end.
dra007 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I get lots of them. The general wisdom is that they are generated by broken spam software.
ragtop1000 Posted May 5, 2005 Author Posted May 5, 2005 Thanks MUCH dra700, I ran and re-ran all virus scan stuff I have and keep coming up clean. I appreciate the 'general wisdom'! This is the first i have ever seen a totally blank email!! SO THANKS dra700!
Wazoo Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Just a short list of other Topics mentioning "no-body e-mails" based on a query of "short Message-ID" which was/is the norm in a majority of these things. http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3862 http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=971 http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3622 http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=340
Lking Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 The kids with new toys are loose again! This AM I got an other "no body" email and I just received 3 identacal spam. With inspection the headers/bodys of 2 were identical except for the time stamp. SC picked Berkeley.EDU as the sourse. Time stamps were like 3 min apart. Guess they didn't think it worked the first time. Ahhh the signs of spring on campus.
