sgrayban Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Qwest.net mail system really sucks. The don't provide correct email headers or they remove some. When trying to add my mailhost from them I am getting the error Sorry, SpamCop has encountered errors: Source IP not found. Your email host does not appear to correctly identify the sending IP ofthe email you receive. If you feel this is in error, please try again or seek help in the SpamCop help forum: http://www.spamcop.net/help.shtml Any help on this please?
Wazoo Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 As large as Qwest would have one believe that they are, it would seem very odd that you'd be the only one with a problem with their headers. But without some sort of sample data, not sure how anyone here could get into the fray. There are Pinned items in this Forum section, some labeled with "Read before posting" .. a couple of them have contact points for those "out of the ordinary" problems .. have you looked at any of those items? Have you submitted any spam for reporting prior to this MailHost configuration attempt? The concept there would be the ability to look at one of those via a Tracking URL and see one of your "problem" headers.
sgrayban Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 I did try to find the offending header but didn't have any luck at it. And yes I did search the forum to see if there were other qwest issues. And since I can't make spam reports here I'll submit them to a few others I know that will have the IP's blocked. ------- This is for adding the mailhost Return-Path: <service[at]admin.spamcop.net> Delivered-To: sgrayban[at]mail-spkn.uswest.net Received: (qmail 72747 invoked by uid 0); 8 Jan 2006 16:27:14 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO mpls-cmx-06.inet.qwest.net) (63.226.138.6) by mpls-mailin-01.inet.qwest.net with SMTP; 8 Jan 2006 16:27:14 -0000 Received: (qmail 98548 invoked by uid 0); 8 Jan 2006 16:27:14 -0000 Received: from sc-app2.ironport.com (HELO spamcop.net) (204.15.82.21) by mpls-cmx-06.inet.qwest.net with SMTP; 8 Jan 2006 16:27:14 -0000 Received: from [71.32.15.193] by spamcop.net with HTTP; Sun, 08 Jan 2006 16:27:13 GMT Date: Sun, 08 Jan 2006 16:27:13 GMT Message-ID: <wh43c13d61g9bda[at]msgid.spamcop.net> From: "SpamCop robot" <mhconf.uZbVdltvkSKrW0yr[at]cmds.spamcop.net> To: sgrayban[at]qwest.net X-SpamCop-Conf: uZbVdltvkSKrW0yr Subject: SpamCop account configuration email Precedence: list X-Mailer: Opera/9.00 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) via http://www.spamcop.net/ v1.516 Status: R X-UIDL: 1136737634.72753.2251.mpls-mailin-01.inet.qwest.net X-Status: NC X-KMail-EncryptionState: X-KMail-SignatureState: X-KMail-MDN-Sent: -------------------------------------------- ------------------- This is from the spam I recieved Return-Path: <benitomcFarland46[at]bluewin.ch> Delivered-To: sgrayban[at]mail-spkn.uswest.net Received: (qmail 4211 invoked by uid 0); 8 Jan 2006 10:40:58 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO mpls-cmx-10.inet.qwest.net) (63.226.138.10) by mpls-mailin-08.inet.qwest.net with SMTP; 8 Jan 2006 10:40:58 -0000 Received: (qmail 36236 invoked by uid 0); 8 Jan 2006 10:40:58 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO informatik.uni-hamburg.de) (211.229.190.163) by mpls-cmx-10.inet.qwest.net with SMTP; 8 Jan 2006 10:40:58 -0000 Date: Sun, 08 Jan 2006 06:01:27 -0500 Message-ID: <BFKOBGIMKOLADBOCKHMEGPELJHAB.benitomcFarland46[at]bluewin.ch> From: "Benito McFarland" <benitomcFarland46[at]bluewin.ch> To: sgraybill[at]uswest.net, sgraybeal[at]uswest.net, sgrayban[at]uswest.net, sgray99[at]uswest.net Subject: Will this Stock be a "Super Nova?" StevenUnderwood Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Please remove your secret code from the Mailhost reply. The code to remove can be found in the "X-SpamCop-Conf:" line but found elsewhere as well.
Wazoo Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 And yes I did search the forum to see if there were other qwest issues. I pointed to "Pinned" items in seen at the entry page to this Forum section .. and was specifically thinking of the one titled; Pinned: Mailhost Issues - please read before posting Please Read BEFORE Posting And since I can't make spam reports here I'll submit them to a few others I know that will have the IP's blocked. <snipped data> Neither of which I could get to work here. 39091[/snapback] I have no idea what you mean by "get to work here" .... and the first sentence I can't begin to decode ..... Your "spam" header sample parsed just fine .. see http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z855101847zed...536e7b50b90bccz .... though I did have to "play" with it a bit .. the To: line contents are showing wrapped with no leading white space, but I have no idea if that was due to your spam, your tools, or this application (though noting that other wrapped header lines did show the leading whitespace in the code box)
