Spamcop message from report

Hi,

I submitted a report and got this back:
spam report id 9999999999 sent to: networking@carbon60.com
/dev/null'ing report for abuse#salesforce.com@devnull.spamcop.net
/dev/null'ing report for abuse#c.exacttarget.com@devnull.spamcop.net

What's the dev/null'ing mean and should I have done something differently?

Thanks in advance.

nav2' you're good. When spamcop decides not to send a spam report, a copy is saved internally at devnull.spamcop.com. In the first example you gave, a spam report would have been sent to abuse{at}salesforce.com,  but the report is stored.

There are several reason SC doesn't send a spam report. If the intended recipient has ask NOT to receive spam reports, just puts them in the bit bucket, or bounces email from SC, there is no reason to clog the internet wasting bandwidth. However, to keep a record of why and when a party is added to the SCBL a copy of the report is stored in a big database at devnull.spamcop

If you have problems to get solutions a  SpamCop tracking URL at top of page BEFORE you submit needs copying first
The include it in your problem report example
Here is your TRACKING URL - it may be saved for future reference:
https://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z6859114946z69e77276e6e6b2f8c8345191b051f707z

Hi Petzl,

Do you mean I need to put that tracking url in the forum when a report comes back with errors?

Before you submit is when tracing URL appears.
Copy and paste it to notepad first
Also check here to see if your  email address is compromised?
https://haveibeenpwned.com
If so change password scan device.

in the [Past Reports] tab:

image.png.6b39187b457cc6e387311ee987aee044.png

click the View Recent Reports link (not this one as it's only for demonstration :) )

and you will get a list akin to the following (unless you haven't submitted anything, then you'd have to select a larger time frame)

image.png.28646b1fa991cbd91d5f9e3baa5ada8c.png

there you can click on any of the number links, but it matters which one you click on...

if it's the one from a link, you won't get much but parsing information of that link

but if you click on the one that has your email address at the end if you chose to report to yourself, then you get the following:

Otherwise you'll get the raw message with a "Parse" link at the top (like this):

Note for mac users forwarding sends a new email and changes the headers and will not allow the recipient to view the original coded message. The headers can change if a virus or spam scanner is used on delivery. The option to remail resend or bounce is offered by some mail clients.
