Blacklisting

Recommended Posts

Sorry, but I moved this post. I believe you placed this into the Help Forum, but it's not a request for "help" .... It probably would have been more appropriate to go into the F-Mail Forum, but .... as it's really a "new feature request" and JT has yet to take any action on the requested / suggested changes to the Forum structure (see http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1672 ) ... I placed it into the Lounge.

At this point, I have no idea as to what the possibility of adding this to the capabilities. and I haven't been getting much feedback from JT of late. But the easiest answer would be to look at the historical efforts on something such as your request. Blocking on VIAGRA was easy until it started getting spelled as V I A G R A ... then V![at]gr[at] .. then..... so yes, you might catch a few, but .... and noting that blocking on words in general causes more problems than it cures ....

I you want to use the Web Mail Interface, you can use filters there and do exactly what you want.

Depending upon your email client, you could create filters on you client side as well.

I suggest either (if you have a spamcop mail account) configuring the SpamAssasin settings, or (if you don't havea spamcop mail account) using Thunderbird as your mail client and using the built in junk mail filtering (which learns as you use it).

Thunderbird is not yet at version 1.0, but 95% of it is built on Mozilla code which is at version 1.7, and so the program is IMO highly stable.
