I received an email today from sethhummel[at]iqcinc.com with the following included:

Subject: spam complaint notification

We have received a spam complaint for the following user:

Account username: iqc

Mailing List: National

Edition: 7feb2004

Complainer's email address: s****[at]l*****ct.com

You have seven (7) days to resolve this complaint.  In accordance with

our terms and conditions (and to preserve the 100% spam-free environment

Unfortunately, I can not find the report they are referring to, but it appears that cooleremail received a complaint, either directly or indirectly, and have provide one of my email addresses to the spammer.

Are they whitelisting, or what?

The full text of the email I received is at:

spam Response

BTW, I find it interesting that the message from cooleremail does not mention spamcop at all, but Seth's message does.

Am I being overly paranoid?

No, the spammers really ARE out to get you (and the rest of us).

BTW, your mailserver is listed on the SCBL, and has been so listed for almost a third of its life. Please review http://www.spamcop.net/w3m?action=checkblo...=66.223.126.249 and the reports which went to abuse at interland.net and registeredsite.com.

Also, you missed a bit of munging in that txt file.

Hmm, interesting. I checked out the page you referenced, and yes, that is my server.

Further checking the reports linked there, shows that spamcop would have sent reports elsewhere, not to interland or registeredsite.

Any idea how I got reported?

I have not received any notifications from interland or registeredsite, so hopefully, they are actually reviewing the report, and seeing that they were not generated from email coming through their system. I know, maybe they are just ignoring them, but we can hope, can't we?

Please ask the Deputies via "deputies at spamcop.net" about this issue. Thanks!

You can hope, but most likely they are bit-bucketing the reports from SpamCop.
