Here is how to get a Tracking URL from a Report ID:

Login to your reporting site, if necessary, so that you can see a "Past Reports" Tab. You must do this with the same account that generated the Report ID, or this procedure will fail because the Report ID will not be underlined/clickable.

Click the Link in the "Past Reports" Tab, producing the "Find past reports" page.

Enter/paste the Report ID into the box and click the "Jump to report id:" Button to produce the "Show past reports" / "Report History" page for the spam which was reported using that Report ID. You could also click on the "View recent reports" Link, but unless this spam was one of the last few reported, use of the "View recent reports" Link is more time-consuming (on your end) and CPU-intensive (on the server end) than use of the "Jump to report id:" Button.

You should see results like the following snippet;

Report History:

Line 1: Date of submittal

Line 2: Subject line of spam

Lines 3,4 (in this case): Spamvertised web site report/complaint

Lines 5,6,7 (in this case): spew source report/complaint

Find and click the Link containing the Report ID (the Report ID URL) to produce the "Show headers" page for the spam which was reported using that Report ID. If the Report ID is not underlined/clickable, please login using the account used to create the Report ID.

If that Report ID was used to report a spamvertized URL, you will only see tracking for that spamvertized URL - go back and click on any Report ID that is not to the left of a spamvertized URL (a Report ID for a "spew source" (an "Administrator of network where email originates") or a "User defined recipient"), because they all produce the same results.

Click the "Parse" Link (to view a parse of the old Tracking URL) or just copy the Link Location for the old Tracking URL.

If the old Tracking URL is too old to parse for your purposes, or you want to munge it some for posting purposes, please see FAQ Entry: Resubmitting to Get New Tracking URL.

Log out or close the window when you're finished with it, as appropriate.

Please note that the Report ID numbers are keyed to your reporting account, such that someone else's Report ID numbers are pretty much useless to you for discussing the actions of the SpamCop Parsing and Reporting Service.

The version I was working on while you posted yours <g>

Generate a Tracking URL from a Report ID number

Note that the Report ID numbers are keyed to your reporting account, such that one of my Report ID numbers is pretty much useless for you to try this on.

1. log into "your" www.spamcop.net web page

2. Select the "Past Reports" Tab

3. click on the "View recent reports" link

(yes, I know there's a "jump to" field for a report ID number, but the result may not be the one needed)

4. should see results like the following snippet;

Report History:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Line 2: Subject line of spam

Lines 3,4: spamvertised web site report/complaint

Lines 5,6,7: spew source report/complaint

5. Locate the data for the spam in question

6. What we need are one of the "spew source" items, so click on one of those.

7. The next displayed page should have a "Parse" link on the first line, click this link

8. Select and copy the now displayed Tracking URL to provide in your next query

9. close this window if done

Thanks, Wazoo. I have used some of the info in your Post to beef up my Topic.
