somebody@spamcop.net
Where can I find information on how to configure dot-qmail file (on qmail system) for use with Spamcop. Essentially, I have only one e-mail account, so I want all e-mail EXCEPT that from spamcop.net to be forwarded to my spamcop.net account, and only e-mail FROM the spamcop.net acount is passed through. How do I configure the dot-qmail file to do this? Anyone has an example? Thanks. -ron
Wazoo
Ths is not an issue with a SpamCop e-mail account, rather setting up some other software ... moved it to the "Set-up" Forum, though wondering if it should have really ended up in the Geek stuff - Software Forum ...??? I'm a bit baffled by the "one e-mail account" scenario, trying to figure out how one would not run into the "e-mail loop" issue ... forwarding e-mail from one account to the spamcop.net account, yet forwarding from the spamcop.net account to the "one account" ... this would only work for a couple of e-mail transfers at best .... Jeff G.
Setting up a mail loop is a recipe for disaster, unless you have sufficient experience or you can hire someone who has sufficient experience. It is warned against in SpamCop Email Setup - Forwarding, SpamCop Email Setup, and SpamCop Email System Tips. Also, please see http://lists.megacity.org/pipermail/rfci-d...ber/003839.html and http://lists.megacity.org/pipermail/rfci-d...ber/003841.html, which call qmail "a menace" and "evil". More information about the RFCI-Discuss list is available at http://lists.megacity.org/mailman/listinfo/rfci-discuss. If I were thinking about such a thing, I'd set up my account's forwarding/keeping filters and collect from pop.spamcop.net or imap.spamcop.net. The final piece could be simulated by redirecting emails one at a time from Webmail, before going to forwarding.
somebody@spamcop.net
The account in question is a mail list account that someone keeps sending spam to. The spam is not posted to the list, but I'm sick of having to discard it every few days. I'm using Mailman with Vpopmail. I could create a 2nd alias but that wouldn't do me much good since the spammer already has the address to the list. That's why I was thinking about how to resolve the situation with one e-mail account. pop and imap won't work since there is no client involved to retrieve the mail -- it is processed by the list as soon as it is received. Can you point me in another direction for this type of situation? Thanks. -ron
