Why Am I Blocked? Probable Causes

QUOTE:SpamCop is one of many blocklists. DNS Blackhole Lists (DNSBLs) is a link to page that lists and categorizes a number of blocklists. Trying to describe the difference between spamcop & other lists (particularly the time it takes to get off the list) and how SpamCop can be an early warning system for ISP's is a bit difficult, as each is different in concept, targets, results ranges, and oversight. If more specific data is desired on other DNSBLs, please visit that listing site...

THE LINK shown above (DNSBLs) does not work...

Please FIX or REMOVE or REPLACE the dead link, and also, please try not to be so self-righteous, Miss Betsy, in your replies.

People come here because they have a problem, almost never of their own making, in communicating. We do not need such a smarmy, patronizing, supercilious attitude as we try to find some solutions.

Thank you.

1> Miss Betsy (or another moderator) has apparently fixed the link referred to. Please remeber that links can and do often change.

2> This post is NOT a reply but is a compilation of Frequently Asked Questions and their common answers. Looking at this and you other post I have seen so far, you seem to have all the answers you need (blocklists=bad) and have not seemed interested in figuring out what the problem is. Miss Betsy is a lot more forgiving than many here as most are system administrators who use "straight talk". Miss Betsy tries to take that message and massage it for less technical users. If you have suggestions about modifications she should make, I am sure she will listen and modify the text.

Right now, I still see the link
http://sysadmin.info/spamlinks/filter-dnsbl.htm

appearing above and sundry other places with attendant 404 error when followed. Needs to be replaced with something like http://spamlinks.net/filter-dnsbl-lists.htm

fedup2 - thanks for picking that problem, follow the (working) link to appreciate that SpamCop is the least of your problems and FWIW Miss Betsy certainly does more than most "here" to clearly address the needs and concerns of those with problems, particularly those unfamiliar with the territory and ill-equipped to handle the technical specifics without a little clarification. Your precision in selecting precisely the wrong targets on which to vent your spleen is awesome.

OK, this isn't the first time one of the mirrors to this list has disappeared. Updated. Thanks for reading and catching the issue .... however, the remarks about Miss Betsy's efforts at putting this into place are not appreciated at all. This 'work' has been distilled over the years with input from all sorts of folks. "Suggested changes" is the way it works ..... and trust me, there's been a lot of "suggestions" not entered into this explanatory page <g>

For the record, I'm the guy with the attitude .... Miss Betsy is the calming influence in these parts.
